Provider-reported service category

Hormone health providers

Clinics advertising hormone-related evaluation and treatment, including testosterone and thyroid programmes and the peptide services often sold alongside them.

235 organisationsProvider-published informationInclusion is not a recommendation

Hormone health is the broadest category in this directory and the one where the gap between a clinic's marketing and its clinical process tends to be widest. The label covers genuinely distinct things: management of a diagnosed endocrine condition, testosterone replacement for men with confirmed hypogonadism, perimenopausal and menopausal care, thyroid management, and a large volume of wellness-branded programmes that use hormonal language without a corresponding diagnosis.

Those are not variations on one service. They differ in who is eligible, what testing is required before treatment, what the treatment is for, and how closely it is monitored afterwards. A clinic that treats a documented deficiency under laboratory follow-up and a clinic that sells an optimisation programme to anyone who completes an intake form can describe themselves using nearly identical words.

This is also where peptide services most often appear on a menu. Growth-hormone secretagogues in particular — sermorelin, ipamorelin, CJC-1295 and similar compounds — are marketed adjacent to hormone programmes, and their regulatory position is frequently different from the FDA-approved hormone products a clinic may also prescribe. The two categories sit side by side on a price list while sitting in entirely different regulatory places, which is precisely why the distinction is worth establishing before you commit.

What the directory can tell you here is narrow and, we think, useful: which organisations publicly advertise hormone-related services, what they say those services include, which states they say they serve, whether a clinician is named, whether a pharmacy relationship is disclosed, and when we last checked. What it cannot tell you is whether any of this is appropriate for you. That is a clinical judgement that requires someone who has examined you and read your results.

Treat the listings below as a starting point for questions rather than a shortlist. The most useful thing you can do with this page is arrive at a consultation already knowing what to ask about testing, monitoring, and the regulatory status of anything you are offered.

The economics are worth understanding because they shape what you will be offered. Hormone programmes are usually recurring revenue: a monthly membership, a medication supply, and periodic laboratory work. That model is not inherently a problem — chronic conditions genuinely need ongoing management — but it creates pressure toward starting treatment and toward continuing it. A clinic whose revenue depends on you remaining a patient has an interest that may not align with a recommendation to stop, and the honest ones will tell you what stopping would look like if you ask.

Cross-state telehealth adds a second layer. A platform may be licensed to operate in your state through a clinician you never meet twice, with prescriptions issued after an asynchronous questionnaire. That arrangement is lawful in many places and can be perfectly adequate for a stable, well-monitored condition. It is a poor fit for starting hormone therapy in someone who has not been examined, and it becomes a real problem if something goes wrong and there is no one with continuing responsibility for your care.

The single most informative question in this category is what the clinic does when the numbers come back normal. A practice organised around treating diagnosed conditions has a straightforward answer: it does not treat, and it may look for another explanation for your symptoms. A practice organised around selling programmes will usually have a reason why normal results still support treatment. Neither answer is disqualifying on its own, but the answer tells you which kind of organisation you are dealing with more reliably than anything on the website.

Finally, be wary of any programme that treats bloodwork as a formality. Hormone results fluctuate with time of day, recent illness, sleep and the assay used, and a single draw interpreted in isolation can be misleading in either direction. A clinic that repeats an abnormal result before acting on it is applying ordinary clinical caution; one that starts therapy off a single convenience sample has skipped a step that exists for good reason.

Regulatory status

Approved hormone products and compounded peptide products are governed by different rules, and a single clinic may offer both. An approved product has been reviewed by FDA for a specific indication; a compounded preparation has not been reviewed at all. Ask which category each item on a proposed plan falls into, and do not let a clinic's familiarity with the approved products imply the same standing for the compounded ones.

What to establish first

Five things worth settling before a consultation. None of them require clinical knowledge to ask.

  1. 1Which clinician would prescribe, whether they are named publicly, and whether their licence is active in your state.
  2. 2What testing is required before treatment, and whether results are reviewed with you before a prescription is written.
  3. 3Whether the programme treats a diagnosed condition or is framed as optimisation, and what the clinic's own criteria are.
  4. 4Which products are FDA-approved and which are compounded, asked product by product rather than in general.
  5. 5What follow-up is included, at what interval, and what it costs once any introductory period ends.

Cost

We do not publish a price range for this category. The directory records prices only where a named provider publishes one and we have checked it on a stated date, and no provider on this page currently meets that bar. A composite range assembled from marketing pages would look authoritative and mean very little — ask each clinic directly what the programme costs after any introductory period, and what is excluded.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a hormone programme the same as treating a diagnosed deficiency?

Not necessarily, and the difference matters. Treating a diagnosed deficiency starts from testing that establishes one. An optimisation programme may start from symptoms alone and target a range the clinic has chosen. Both exist in this category. Ask which one you are being offered and what result would make you ineligible.

Why are peptides advertised alongside hormone therapy?

Growth-hormone secretagogues are marketed as acting on the same axis as hormone therapy, so they appear on the same menus. Their regulatory position is usually different from the approved hormone products a clinic prescribes, and that difference is not always made clear in marketing. Check each compound's status separately.

Does appearing in this category mean a provider is recommended?

No. A provider appears here because its own public materials advertise services in this category. The directory records and dates what a provider publishes; it does not rank clinical quality, and inclusion is not an endorsement.

Are the treatments in this category FDA-approved?

That depends entirely on the specific product, not the category. Approval is product-specific: a given drug is approved for a given indication, route and population. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and do not undergo premarket review for safety, effectiveness or quality. Check the exact product in Drugs@FDA rather than reasoning from the category name.

Why do some listings show no verification badge?

Verification labels describe narrow, dated checks — that an organisation exists, that a named clinician holds an active licence at the time of checking. A profile without one has not had that check completed, which is not the same as failing it. The verification framework page defines each label.
